Course overview

  • This workshop forms part of the Diploma of Project Management. The Diploma of Project Management requires a total of five days of classroom attendance and comprises the following parts:
  • Complete the three-day Applied Project Management program. You will not be required to complete the assessment at that point
  • After the above program, participants then undertake an online skills assessment exam and prepare a presentation for an executive briefing (in their own time) on how each of the Diploma project management competencies have been applied within their workplace
  • Attendance at the two-day Workshop for Diploma of Project Management finalises the formal learning and supports students in the development of the major workplace portfolio. Participants also present their executive briefing on how each of the project management competencies have been applied within the workplace.
  • The Diploma of Project Management qualification requires five days of classroom attendance. Candidates may commence the Diploma of Project Management at any time by enrolling in the whole course upfront or by upgrading their enrolment to the Diploma qualification after undertaking the three-day Applied Project Management program.
  • It commences with three consecutive days, followed by two additional days. A gap of 12 weeks between the two programs is recommended.
  • A minimum of 140 additional hours is required to complete readings and assessment tasks.
  • The workshop for the Diploma of Project Management course must be completed within 12 months from attending the Applied Project Management program.

NB People with little project management experience may enrol on the diploma, but they will have to undertake significant project work during the course to provide the supporting workplace evidence required to demonstrate their competency.

  • Understand the process used in developing a project plan for the management of scope, time, costs, quality, human resources, communications, risk and procurement

Assessment details

  • Assessment is comprised of a skills assessment exam, an executive presentation and a work-based assessment.
  • After attending the Diploma workshop participants have 12 months to complete their assessment.
