Course overview

• This program is designed to provide new trainers, with the skills and knowledge to plan and present effective and interactive training sessions. As a 5 day program, this course offers more opportunity for practice and in-session coaching for new trainers to learn the craft of planning and delivering skills and knowledge based training sessions. The focus of the delivery is on three areas: individual facilitation, group facilitation and work-based facilitation.
• With a very practical and “how to” approach, this course is premised in learning the theory behind great training and a series of presentations to the group by each participants. As a learner, you will receive in-session coaching from AIM’s expert trainers and leave the course with a video of your final presentation. It is important to note that this course is designed specifically for those who have never delivered training before, or who have very little experience in delivering training. This course will assist new trainers to achieve the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. AIM’s Training Delivery Skills program is designed for experienced trainers seeking formal recognition and skill development.

• Significant time is devoted to the development of training delivery skills in front of small to medium sized groups. The program provides 2 individual and 2 group opportunities to practise training skills (the morning of Day 3 and the whole of Day 5) with comprehensive feedback on both sessions given.
• Opportunity to observe and learn from your fellow participants.
• Provides a useful and comprehensive session plan template.
• A core module of the Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.

Who Should attend

• Training officers, trainers with limited or no experience, functional and line managers and those who have not previously been training and would like to develop skills to effectively deliver training sessions.

Qualification Pathway

This module may be completed in place of Training Delivery Skills.

Learning outcomes

• Plan, prepare and implement for training including work-based training
• Facilitate individual and group learning, including supporting and monitoring learning, and addressing barriers to effective participation
• Deliver structure training sessions, including establishing an environment conducive to group learning
• Provide learners with opportunites for practice and feedback

Assessment details

• A Workplace Application Project requiring 10-12 hours preparation (approx) is required to achieve the Statement of Attainment
• Assessment is optional.
• For students enrolled in a qualification, assessment is included in the qualification fee.
